Fall Protection Systems

fall_protection_01 Fall protection systems (also sometimes called “mansafe”, “cable” or “latchway” systems) are a perfect solution to allow safe access to exposed areas on buildings and structures.

Typically horizontal fall protection systems are made up of stainless steel components designed to be discreet and certified to allow several users simultaneous use. As the components are made from high grade, corrosion resistant stainless steel this allows for minimal maintenance. Spans of up to 15m (depending on cable used, number of users and type of system) allow for fewer parts and components that aids in producing competitive pricing for customers.

Fall protection can be installed onto rooftops, walls and overhead. Due to the design of components workers are able to access both sides of the system, along with a range of fixing posts that allow the system to be installed to most types of roof.

fall_protection_02System compatibility and installation requirements are calculated using software at the planning stage, that allows a more cost effective quotation and installation procedure, resulting in cost savings.

Vertical Fall Protection Systems

Rope Task supply and install permanent vertical fall protection systems onto buildings, roofs, towers and masts. These systems can be specifically designed for the structure or supplied with various fixing brackets for retrofitting.

fall_protection_03How do these systems work?

To ascend the system the user dons a full body harness and attaches it to the guided fall arrester that either runs along fixed cable or a track system. The fall arrestor is designed to travel smoothly up and down the system with minimal effort. In the event of a fall, a spring-loaded cam activates and locks onto the system, arresting the users fall within centimetres. These systems conform to EN353-1.
