As building or facilities managers, do you understand the legislation governing work at height activities on your buildings and structures? Are you required to work at height, but have not undergone specific training? Do you need to specify or select appropriate equipment to protect workers from the potential hazards of working at height?

Rope Task provides the solution to many varied work at height problems. From correct equipment selection through to complex rescue from height training, we will provide training that meets each customers individual requirement.

heighttraining02Available on all of our training courses are the latest and most innovative height safety equipment, techniques and industry knowledge.

All of our training courses are delivered by competent and skilled instructors, some of whom are also NEBOSH trained, who have a number of years practical experience in various fields such as rope access, scaffolding, construction and safety management of work at height activities. Training courses also include current legislation such as:

  • The Work at Height Regulations 2005
  • IRATA Training scheme
  • BS 7985 - Code of practice for the use of rope access methods for industry purposes
  • ACHWAT
  • All course delivery is based on the new British standard BS 8454 Code of practice for the delivery of training and education for work at height and rescue

Courses are available at our dedicated height safety training facility centrally located just north of Birmingham City Centre. Access to the training facility is gained within a few minutes drive of Junction 1 of the M5 Motorway and Junction 10 of the M6 Motorway.

Our training facilities include:

  • Classroom area for training presentations.
  • 10M lattice tower, with high level platfrom, ideal for tower crane rescue, twin lanyard climbing techniques, use of fixed vertical ladders, climbing using step bolt access systems and various access, evacuation and rescue scenarios.
  • High level Work position net systems - mainly used in the offshore oil and gas industries.
  • Open edge flat roof area, ideal for work at height training including, use of permanent and temporary fall protection systems, leading edge protection techniques, correct use of fall protection harnessses and lanyards, practical experience of work restraint, positioning and fall arrest techniques.
  • Confined space simulator, for all aspects of access, egress and rescue.
  • High level steel beams for complex rope access training and rescue scenarios.
  • Low level platforms and rope access systems for training.  

We will also make our facilities available for individuals and companies that require skills updating, refresher training and half day or evening update sessions, that will enable companies and individuals to maintain skill levels that have been taught on training courses, but may not have been used as often as expected.
