Work Position Nets Work position nets (WPN) is one of a number of specialist access systems used by Rope Task. WPN systems are a cost effective alternative to traditional access systems (scaffold), used to gain access to various structures. The WPN system is a modular work positioning platform which can be modified according to its application and the work to be carried out. The system is an engineered system taking full consideration of both the structure from which the WPN will be supported and the loading placed upon the system during operation. Each system is therefore designed independently, taking into consideration the location and task requirements. WPN systems comprise of durable man-made fibre nets suspended by wire cable or load rated ratchet straps, providing a stable work platform from which suitably trained personnel can operate. Training required by personnel using the WPN system to gain access to the work place, is a minimum of a one day “working at height awareness” course.Rope Task employs IRATA trained installation personnel with knowledge of specialist rigging skills that allows us to install WPN systems to various structures. After installation Rope Task allow non-IRATA trained personnel to access the pre-installed WPN system, once on-site training has been completed. At all times, whilst the WPN system is being used as a means of access, an IRATA level 3 height safety supervisor will be managing the work at height, in case of an emergency or the need for rescue.
