DOFF CLEANING

It is a great way to clean surfaces whilst minimising damage, saturation or thermal shock.
This method removes the need to use biological chemicals in the cleaning process, making it more environmentally friendly.
The DOFF machine produces a controllable stream of high pressure superheated water (150°C) and steam. Each minute, five litres of heated water and steam are fed through the hose to the nozzle. The surface does not suffer any damage, saturation or thermal shock as a result of the process, quickly removing grime and other environmental soiling from surfaces.
Superheated water is generated using a diesel burner. An electric pump generates the pressure, the operator has full control of pressure and temperature for optimum cleaning efficiency and surface protection. A cleaning edge is created with a ceramic nozzle enabling precision and control.
Due to the effectiveness of steam, there is no need to use biological chemicals in this process making it safer for the environment and the operative, as steam/superheated water will remove moss, algae, fungi and other biological matter and will also kill off spores. Our equipment is portable, efficient and mobile enough to be easily transported yet sufficiently robust for the toughest restoration jobs.
DOFF is most commonly used to clean brick and stonework, however it is a versatile solution to remove all kinds of soil, dirt and grime marks from interior and exterior surfaces, walls, floors, steps, pathways and other hard standing surfaces. It can also clean a wide range of building materials including brick and stone.
Compared to other cleaning methods, it is far gentler than any other conventional form of steam cleaning, it is probably the safest way to clean any substrate without causing any damage to the surface being cleaned, hence the DOFF steam cleaner is the only cleaning method English Heritage approve for use on its listed buildings.
